Alexandria

Alexandria is the parish seat of Rapides Parish. This areas of the Louisiana is often referred to as CenLa, which is short for central Louisiana. Alexandria is the main metro city (pop 153,922) for Rapides and Grant parish. Alexandria is on the south bank while Pineville is on the north bank of the Red River. According to the 2010 census, Pineville population increased 3% percent from the 2000. census. So of the areas main employers are Rapides Regional Medical Center, CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Union Tank Car and Roy O.
